Mold Remediation & Removal

Containment, HEPA filtration, safe removal, verified clearance.

Mold remediation is the controlled removal of mold-contaminated material and the correction of the moisture source. Mold Safe Solutions performs remediation in San Diego County using containment barriers, negative air pressure with HEPA filtration, and eco-friendly antimicrobial treatment, followed by independent clearance testing.

Our remediation process

Removal without containment spreads spores through the rest of the building. Every project follows the same controlled sequence so the problem leaves the property instead of relocating within it.

  • Fix or isolate the water source first — remediation before the leak is corrected always fails
  • Build containment with poly barriers and set negative air pressure using HEPA air scrubbers
  • Remove porous contaminated material (drywall, insulation, carpet pad) and bag it inside containment
  • HEPA vacuum and damp-wipe all remaining surfaces, then apply eco-friendly antimicrobial treatment
  • Dry the structure to documented moisture content targets before anything is closed up
  • Post-remediation verification testing before rebuild

Eco-friendly, occupant-safe methods

We use low-toxicity antimicrobials suitable for occupied homes, including households with children, pets, elderly residents and people with existing mold sensitivity. Fogging a property with harsh biocides instead of physically removing contaminated material is not remediation, and we do not do it.

Mold Remediation FAQs

How much does mold remediation cost in San Diego County?
Cost depends on the affected square footage, how many materials must be removed, and access. Small single-room jobs are far less than whole-house projects. We quote a defined scope in writing before work begins — call 619-332-3204.
Do I need to move out during mold remediation?
Usually not. Containment and negative air pressure isolate the work area. Occupants with severe sensitivity, or projects involving central HVAC, are the common exceptions and we tell you upfront.
Does homeowners insurance cover mold removal?
Coverage typically depends on whether the water event was sudden and accidental versus long-term seepage or neglected maintenance. Our documentation — photos, moisture readings and lab data — is what carriers ask for, and we prepare it for every job.
